Interesting Coffee Facts That You Should Know

For me having a cup of coffee in the morning is one good way to start my day. A day without the needed jolt would leave me drained before lunchtime.

Other than being a stimulant, there's more on your regular cup than you realize. As a matter of fact, there are lots of coffee facts that most people do not know.

Here's a good example... Did you know that early East African tribes mix coffee with animal fats to make an energy food. They consume these large primitive power bar before they go and raid other tribes.

Here's another interesting coffee fact... The Arabs were responsible for introducing Coffee to Europe. In the early years, the Arabs were the only ones who knew the secret workings of coffee. They like to travel and they traveled a lot. And when they did travel, they bring along coffee with them. As time passed by, coffee was slowly revealed to the rest of the world.

However, they were not the only one responsible for revealing the wondrous effects of coffee. The Turks have their share in letting Europeans experience the stimulating effects of coffe. And from then on, when European traders came to this exotic locale, they learned much more of coffee; which in turn shared the news wherever they went.

The rise of the Dutch colony Set up or lay the groundwork for the first European coffee estate -- the island of Java, which was then a Dutch colony (now a part of Indonesia). Now coffee is known all over the world as a precious commodity.

Confessions of a Coffee Junkie

The most extensively-consumed drink of today is coffee. I, for one, regard coffee as one of the of best drinks that Man created. A single cup of coffee allows you with a wake up punch to help you work through your daily activities (be it work or play). Other than the invigorating effects that coffee offers, coffee also brings about positive health benefits (although, there are some that tend to disagree).

Yes, I admit. I am a certified coffee addict. I love coffee, from the second I wake up, at work, and at the end of the day, I always have a warm cup within reach. A cup of freshly brewed coffee is one way of starting my day right. Drinking a cup during breakfast would give me a good wake-up punch (certainly a great way to start my day). At work, I usually consume at least 3-4 cups. And at the end of the day, I sometimes down a cup while doing some leftover task from work (usually but not always).

The demand for coffee is one of the reasons the coffee industry is regarded as one of the fastest rising industries today. For that reason, lots of coffee varieties have been brewed to fit the different tastes of coffee drinkers. From the regular brewed coffee to the decaf variant, drinking a cup of coffee is now considered as one of the regular activities of our lives.

In Transition

Hello people! Sorry for the long silence. I've been quite busy reorganizing my stuff.

Anyways, for those of you who have been relocated because of work, the transition phase can be quite exhausting. Packing up your things can take a lot of your energy. Not to mention the thing that you have to carry to your destination. At the end of the day you will find yourself quite drained. Some people find it hard to get a good night's sleep after a very exhausting day. And not having a good rest can lead to a wild or distraught in appearance the next day. Not only that, your energy level won't be the same. You'll easily get tired and exhausted.

So if you want to get a good night's sleep after a very tiring day, the best thing that you can do is to relax your mind. Stop worrying. Take a deep breath. Breathing deep can help you relax your mind. Wear comfortable clothes when you go to bed. Visualize relaxing images such as a soothing scenery. For me, drinking a warm glass of milk really helps. You should try it (for those who are not lactose intolerant).

Having a good night's sleep after a tiring day will help you recharge all the energy that you used so that you will wake up fresh and ready to tackle the day ahead.

Wine + Food = Perfect Combination

Drinking wine after meal is one of the few indulgence that I truly enjoy. Not only does wine help your body's metabolism it also help you relax, thus, relieving stress.

This is the kind of indulgence that lots of people want and at the same time are having difficulty in choosing the right kind of wine that would greatly compliment their meals.

A predicament that I sometimes encounter because drinking the same type of wine over and over again tends to lessen the satisfaction. Also, as mentioned earlier, there are some wine that would compliment greatly to certain types of food.

My own personal experience in this subject would be red wine and fish. Red wine enhances any kind of fish dish. I have read from an article somewhere on the internet that the reason for that is because of the chemicals found on red wine. I won't bother you with the details because it would only confuse me more that those of you reading this. Another type of food that is perfect for red wine is pasta. Pasta and red wine, just like the way the Italians love it.

Anyways, I'll post more on "what type of kind that goes great to what type of food" in the future. All this discussion of food is making me hungry (and thirsty).

Sharing My Views of Fashion

I haven't really written something about fashion, I guess this would be the best time to do it. The term fashion mainly denotes that of clothing appearances. However, fashion is not only restricted to clothing appearances or style, it also is used to describe social phenomena. This can range from architectural designs to clothing, to personal adornment or to technology.

As previously mentioned, although fashion covers a very broad area in terms of social phenomena, it mainly identified as a way of how we manifest ourselves to others. Simply put, fashion is one's way of expressing his or her personality. Some of you readers may disagree but that is just how I see it. I'm not an expert (far from it!) but if you sit back and watch those around you, you will understand what I am trying to convey (hopefully). To set up an example, if your the rebellious type, you tend to wear worn-out jeans or if you are the formal type you tend to project your image to others by wearing formal or simple clothing.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading this simple raves and rants of mine. I'll post more about certain fashion styles in the future. As of now, I got to sign off and catch some ZZZ's.

My Thoughts

As what I have stated on my previous post, I love to eat. Eating is one of my greatest pleasure. That is the main reason why I love to watch TV shows that showcase simple "do-it-yourself" (DIY) recipes. Although I don't get to cook or prepare the recipes that I have collected, I sometimes experiment on the things that I have learned. Thereby creating "my very own" recipe (sorry but I sometimes forget to write them down). What I have learned so far is that it doesn't matter how you cook the food, what matters is that you enjoy doing what you do and really put your heart on what you are cooking or preparing.

As soon as I get to write the recipes that cooked or prepared I'll post some of them here. Just check here every now and then for updates.

(I was thinking of posting pictures of me but I haven't got time to edit it, so I'll just post a picture that I downloaded from sxc.hu.)
